One of the challenges of the 19th century, in addition to the densification of villa areas, is the redevelopment of declining industrial areas on the outskirts of cities. These areas represent remarkable land potential and offer significant opportunities for mixed use due to their good accessibility to networks and thelarge areas they occupy. The challenge here is to create a medium-density neighbourhood that makes use of the area south of the railway line and, in doing so, to establish and finance soft mobility crossings to reconnect the two sectors of the city and provide access to nature. At the heart of the project, the residents of the existing hamlet and local industrialists are actively participating in defining the future of their territory through a series of consultations and project workshops that will take place from 2018 to 2019.
