The project aims to maintain multiple relationships with individual housing despite the substantial densification that is proposed. To achieve this, we felt that the qualities of suburban neighbourhoods that are potentially sought after by several segments of the population did not lie solely in owning a detached house on a large plot of land. By preserving the plot layout, an urban ‘grain’ is also preserved. In most cases, this encourages us to envisage non-contiguous relationships between neighbouring buildings. As a result, the dwellings built on these plots may partially echo the suburban housing model, particularly in terms of their partially radiating layout.
