The station square is becoming a major public space for the village of Satigny. The building project develops a volume that forges a link between the historic village and the newer neighbourhoods. The resulting linear shape seeks to express a coherent whole made up of fragmented parts. It allows for a morphological relationship with the neighbourhood, but also marks places for socialising within the interstices with the creation of shared vegetable gardens. Longitudinally, the project organises two
main distribution axes: along the tracks with a cycle path , and along the road to the station via a pedestrian path onto which the building entrances open. A swale
at the edge of the footpath allows for on-site retention, promoting nature and biodiversity. Coupled with the use of wood, the project demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability through the use of solid stone, which is widely used on the site and evokes the history of the place.
